TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State Head Coach Amy Bond has signed four players – Sophia Fullbrook, Alexandra Gazzoli, Freya Russell, and Christiana Surcey – to NCAA National Letters of Intent to play women's golf and study at Florida State University. The four world-class players are scheduled to arrive in Tallahassee and begin playing as Seminoles during the fall of 2024.

"Our 2024 recruiting class is a class we are very proud of," said Bond. "It is slightly bigger than normal but includes very talented players. They each are uniquely talented in their own ways and together will help us continue to pursue winning conference and national championships. Florida State Golf is thrilled that these four have chosen to be Seminoles."

Fullbrook (Hertfordshire, England) is currently a student at the St. Albans Girls School. She is a member of England's National Team and represented her home country in the Home Internationals and the R&A Girls Amateur Championships in 2023 and the English Girls' Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship in 2022. She is currently ranked No. 39 in the European Golf Rankings. Fullbrook won the championships of the Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Tournament and the English Girls' Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship in 2022.

"Florida State was the first college I visited, and I immediately loved it," said Fullbrook. "The Seminoles have an amazing golf program and facilities, along with a great academic program. Coach Bond, Coach Duck and Coach Heisey were so welcoming. It's always been my dream to play college golf, and I couldn't have dreamed of a better college to represent during my career."

"In continuing our tradition of great players from England, we are thrilled to welcome Sophia Fullbrook," said Bond. "She has played in some big international events and has a lot of experience. She is a complete player and fundamentally sound. She is a player that gets locked in and lets nothing else both her. Sophia is a great person along with a great student."

Gazzoli (Palm Coast, Fla.) completed high school through the Florida Virtual School while playing golf at Matanzas High School. As a freshman in 2020, she finished in a tie for third in the individual standings of the 2A State Championship and led her team to their third consecutive district championship. During her career, Gazzoli won the individual state championship in 2022, finished second in 2021 and third in 2020. She won the 2023 Florida State Women's Amateur Stroke Play Championship.

"It has been a lifelong dream of mine to play golf for Florida State," said Gazzoli. "I am so fortunate to be a part of the woman's golf program and to work with Coach Bond and her amazing coaching staff. It is an honor to play for Florida State and I am so excited to be part of the team."

"We could not be more excited to announce the signing of Alexandra Gazzoli," said Bond. "This is one of the most special recruiting moments of my career as Florida State was Alexandra's dream school. She is the whole package; we cannot wait to have her on campus. She is extremely talented, and we are looking forward to watching her succeed. Not only will she be great on the golf course, but she will be an exceptional Seminole ambassador."

Surcey (Cartersville, Ga.), who plays at New Cass High School, won the championship of the Girls Division of the Golfweek International Junior Invitational in 2023. She won that championship in a playoff with scores of 66-70 for a 136 total. Surcey finished in 23rd place at the AJGA Atlanta Classic presented by UHY in 2023 and won individual championships at the 2023 Kiva Dunes Junior Classic, the Jason Bohn Junior Classic and the Southeastern Junior championship events sponsored by the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour.

"I am so excited to be a Seminole," said Surcey. "I cannot wait to be on such a great team with wonderful coaches. I am so thankful for this opportunity to grow as a player and a student."

"We have been blessed with some great Georgia players over the years, and it is now time to add another one in Christina Surcey," said Bond. "Christina is a talented, natural leader and constantly challenges herself. She thrives in tough environments, and I am excited to have a front row seat to watch her succeed both on and off the golf course."

Russell (Troon, Scotland) studies at Marr College High School and has a great deal of international success on her resume. She has represented Scotland as a member of the U16 National Team, the Ayrshire Ladies, the West Scotland Girls, and the Ayrshire Girls. In 2023, she earned victories at the SGF Fairmont Girls Open, the Junior Tour at Gourock, and the SGF Dundonald Invitational and at the SGF Fairmont Girls Open.

"I'm really excited to become a Seminole," said Russell. "Florida State ticked all the boxes for me. I'm excited to work with the amazing coaches and  my new teammates."

"Scotland has a rich golf history and we are excited to welcome our first Scottish player, Freya Russell to Florida State Women's Golf," said Bond. "Freya has a quiet confidence and is going to be fun to watch. She is passionate, experienced, and focused on being the best she can be. She will be a great addition to our team and to Florida State."
