The FSU baseball team wrapped their home season with a win against Kennesaw State Tuesday night, with a score of 7-3. Now, the Noles are looking to end the season on a win streak as they face Louisville.
Junior Andrew Armstrong is set to make his second start of the season for the first game of the series against Louisville. Armstrong made an appearance on the mound of game three last weekend against Wake Forest, where he pitched 2.1 innings with four strikeouts and allowed just one hit. He ranks fourth nationally with 31 pitching appearances this season.
Jackson Baumeister will start for the Noles in Friday's contest for his 14th of the season. Baumeister pitched for 4.1 innings and threw four strikeouts last weekend during his game one start against Wake Forest.
Conner Whittaker will make the final start of the series on Saturday for his eighth start of the season. Last weekend against Wake Forest, Whittaker ran his scoreless inning streak to 14.0 before a Wake Forest home run in the seventh inning. He pitched 8.0 innings the prior weekend against Mercer without allowing a single run.
Sophomore James Tibbs III is the current leader on the FSU offense with a .335 batting average through fifty-one games. Tuesday against Kennesaw State, Tibbs went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored and currently leads FSU with 43 walks, 56 runs scored and 41 RBI.
Also on offense, Titan Kamaka set a career high with five RBI, the second-most for a Seminole this season. During the game, he had a sacrifice fly and a pair of two-run doubles.
FSU leads the all-time series with Louisville, 33-10. The Noles are hoping to repeat their success last year, where they swept the series against Louisville in Tallahassee.
