Volleyball Sweeps UNF

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) - Florida State Volleyball (6-6) got back in the win column Tuesday evening after a three-set (25-21, 25-15, 25-19) sweep over the Ospreys of North Florida in Tully Gym.

The Seminoles got off to a slow start trailing the Ospreys 6-2 until a Chris Poole timeout seemed to be just the spark they needed, taking a 12-10 lead shortly thereafter. The Noles went on to outscore the Ospreys 23-15, winning the first set 25-21. Audrey Koenig led the way for the Seminoles recording five kills in the set.

The momentum continued with FSU taking an early second set lead and never looked back, winning 25-15. The set was highlighted with the Noles having 18 total team kills and posting a whopping .467 hitting percentage. FSU played stellar defense holding the Osprey's to only a .074 hitting percentage.

The third set opened up with a 10-4 Seminoles lead before a North Florida timeout. The Ospreys battled back trailing 18-15, before an ace by Addi Hultquist essentially iced the match for the Noles giving them a 22-16 lead. The Noles went on to win the set 25-19 with a match clinching kill by Maddie Snider.

Snider led the match in kills with 10, while teammate Sydney Conley posted seven kills of her own.

The Noles were led in digs by Kyleene Filimaua and Kenna Phelan who had seven and six digs, respectively.

Florida State finished the match totaling 42 team kills, 37 aces, and a .369 hitting percentage to go along with 37 assists, and 28 digs. Â

FSU will travel to Blacksburg, Virginia on Friday at 6 p.m. to take on Virginia Tech and begin ACC play.
