TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State Athletics announced today that leading less-than-truckload (LTL) motor carrier, Old Dominion Freight Line (OD) is now the Official Freight Carrier of Florida State Athletics. The multi-year relationship begins with this upcoming football season and combines two organizations known for excellence. The partnership will give OD access to gameday activations, events, and media throughout the college athletics season.
The freight carrier increased its college sports partnerships in 2023 from 36 universities to 41 across the US.
"Florida State Athletics and industry leader Old Dominion Freight Line make a great team," said FSU Vice President and Director of Athletics Michael Alford. "We both have high expectations and stand for excellence, and we appreciate their support of Seminole Athletics."
"Florida State is one of the premier athletic programs in the country, and we're proud to be partners. Their commitment to excellence and rich history of winning is a shared value here at OD, and we look forward to supporting the Seminoles this upcoming season and beyond," said Dick Podiak, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for OD. "We know it takes a lot of hard work to be The Best in the Game, so we're proud to support the Seminoles, who are striving to be the best in theirs."
OD's integrated agreement and designation as the Official Freight Carrier of Florida State Athletics began July 1, 2023 in collaboration with its multimedia rightsholder, LEARFIELD.
Old Dominion Freight Line, based in Thomasville, North Carolina, handles LTL freight shipments throughout North America, focusing on on-time, damage-free deliveries. Shippers and industry experts consistently regard OD as one of the best-run trucking companies because of its commitment to excellence and premium service. Old Dominion has been the #1 National LTL Carrier for Quality for 13 years in a row, according to Mastio & Company.
