TALLAHASSEE – Florida State junior All-American Lottie Woad, who won the individual championship of the Landfall Tradition on October 27, has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for October as announced by the ACC Office. It marks the second time she has won the award with her first Golfer of the Month honor coming in September 2023.
It marks the second consecutive month as Florida State golfer has earned the award after junior All-American Mirabel Ting was named the ACC Golfer of the Month for September 2024.
The reigning ACC Player of the Year, Woad is currently ranked as the No. 1 player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for the 14th consecutive week. She has been ranked as the world's No. 1 since July 31, 2024. Woad has been ranked as the world's No. 1 amateur player in the world 19 of the last 21 weeks since June 12, 2024.
"I'm happy to get this award and couldn't have done it without all my teammates and coaches," said Woad. "The fall season has been so fun, and I'm looking forward to a productive offseason as we push on as a team in the spring season"
In two events during the month of October, Woad earned one individual victory, two top three finishes, was a total of even par over six rounds in two tournaments, and tied the school record for the fourth time with a single round score of 65 in the first round of the Landfall Tradition. Woad averaged 70.83 strokes in six rounds with three of her six rounds scored at par or better.
In leading the Seminoles to the team title at the Landfall Tradition, Woad finished as the Seminoles' top golfer in a tournament for the 16th time in her 23 career events as a Seminole. She led the Seminoles on the scoreboard at both the Jackson T. Stephens Cup (third place) and the Landfall Tradition (tied for first) in both of Florida State's events during the month of October.
No. 11 Florida State opens its spring season at the IJGA Collegiate Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club (Jan. 31-Feb. 1) and plays host to the Florida State Match Up at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club (March 21-23).
