Men's Golf in Sixth at Amer Ari Invitational

WAIMEA, Hawaii – The No. 12 Florida State Men's Golf team wrapped up the first round at the Amer Ari Invitational on Thursday, shooting 15-under (273) and sitting tied for sixth place amongst the competitive field at Mauna Lani North Course in Waimea, Hawaii.
 
The Seminoles moved up the leaderboard throughout the first day of the tournament. Among the top six teams in the field are first-place North Carolina (-26), Arizona State (-23), Texas Tech (-21), Oklahoma State (-18), Auburn (-16) and FSU (-15).
 
Freshman Tyler Weaver is tied for fifth at the end of the first round, carding a 7-under (65) on Thursday, including hitting an eagle on a par-5 and six birdies throughout day one.
 
Sophomore Luke Clanton finished day one tied for 12th at 5-under (67), also getting six birdies on the day.
 
Senior Frederik Kjettrup is tied for 49th at 2-under (70).
 
Sophomore Jack Bingham is tied for 65th at 1-under (71) and hit five birdies on the back nine during the first round.
 
Redshirt senior Cole Anderson is tied for 76th at an even par (72).
 
Junior Michael Mays played as Florida State's individual at sits tied for 37th at 3-under (69).
 
The Seminoles will begin the second round of the Amer Ari Invitational on Friday morning at Mauna Lani North Course at 12:30 p.m. ET/7:30 a.m. HT.
