FSU Hosts Weekend Doubleheader

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women's tennis team hosts UAB and Georgia State in a doubleheader.
The Seminoles are 2-2 on the season and have a 1-0 record at home.
Senior Ellie Schoppe is 3-0 in singles this season after her 7-5, 6-0 win over No. 23 Emily De Oliveira from Florida. Schoppe is ranked No. 37 nationally in singles and No. 45 in doubles with Maelie Monfils.
Millie Bissett has earned three wins on the season and was ahead 5-0 in her third set against Qavia Lopez of Florida before the match was clinched. Bissett is ranked No. 37 in doubles with Vic Allen. Allen is ranked No. 47 in singles.
Freshman Laura Putz has earned four total wins on the season and won 6-3, 6-3 against Sophie Williams of Florida at No. 6 singles.
UAB is 0-5 on the season and faces FAMU this Friday. The Blazers are led by graduate student Adela Wasserbauerova, who is 3-1 on the season in singles.
Georgia State is winless on the season with a 0-4 record and faces FAMU Saturday morning. Freshman Francesca Miglio has earned two singles wins on the season.
Saturday's matches begin at 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center. Admission is free. Live stats and video will be available on Seminoles.com.
