TALLAHASSEE - The No. 18 Florida State softball team (18-9, 1-1) fell to No. 2 Texas (25-3, 5-1) 10-0 in six innings Wednesday night at the Seminole Softball Complex.
Texas jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a sacrifice fly and a double. The Longhorns added runs in the second and the third inning, but Ashtyn Danley came in and put up back-to-back zeros in the fourth and fifth innings. Danley had a very solid outing for the Noles as she went three complete innings without allowing a run while striking out three.
Isa Torres led the Noles offensively as she had a season high three hits and three at bats for the Seminoles.
The Longhorns added four runs in the top of the sixth to put the Seminoles in run rule territory.
The Seminoles head to Pitt for their first conference road test of the season. The three-game series begins Friday at 6:00 at Vartabedian Field on ACCNX.
