TALLAHASSEE – The No. 5 Florida State beach volleyball team is back in Tallahassee this weekend to host No. 8 LSU, South Carolina, Grand Canyon, and Jacksonville in the CCSA Midseason Tournament. This marks FSU's second of three home tournaments this season.

The Seminoles are coming off a 2-2 weekend at the East vs. West Tournament in Manhattan Beach, California, last weekend. The Noles defeated No. 12 Hawaii and No. 10 LMU, while suffering its first losses to No. 6 Cal and No. 2 UCLA. Sophomore Alexis Durish and junior Anna Long finished the weekend 4-0 against each opponent, earning CCSA Pair of the Week honors.

FSU will open the weekend against Jacksonville, their second and final meeting of the season. Florida State last defeated the Dolphins 5-0 in February. Since then the Dolphins have gone 8-7, defeating the likes of Chattanooga, Palm Beach Atlantic, Eckerd, Saint Leo, and Missouri State among others.

The Noles will then play South Carolina in their first meeting of the season. Florida State is 22-0 in their history against the Gamecocks, with the Seminoles winning their last matchup last April in the CCSA Championships, with a final score of 4-1. South Carolina currently sits at 10-6, winning three of its last four matches.

Florida State will open play on Sunday against Grand Canyon. The Antelopes are 4-8 this season, losing their last match to LMU 4-1 in Manhattan Beach. The Seminoles lead the all-time series with the Antelopes, 9-0 with their last meeting in Tampa last March ending in a 4-1 victory for Florida State.

The Seminoles will cap off the weekend against No. 8 LSU. The Tigers are 10-3 this season, splitting the East vs. West Tournament with wins over Cal and LMU, and losses to UCLA and Hawaii. The Seminoles lead the Tigers in their all-time series, 23-3, with the Noles claiming their last match in Gulf Shores as part of the NCAA Tournament, 3-0.

Florida State will open play against Jacksonville on Saturday at 10:45 a.m., followed by South Carolina at 2:30 p.m. On Sunday the Noles will then play Grand Canyon at 10:15 a.m. and close out the weekend against LSU at 12:45 p.m. Live Stats will be available on Seminoles.com.
