Florida State Dominates No. 24 Georgia Tech

TALLAHASSEE. – The Florida State women's tennis team (9-6, 3-3 ACC) dominated No. 24 Georgia Tech (8-7, 4-3 ACC) 6-1 at the FSU Indoor Tennis Center on Friday.
"Every single court today was so determined and it was a great team win," head coach Jennifer Hyde said. "It's great to see us be on the right track heading into the beginning of April."
The Yellow Jackets kicked off doubles with a win at No. 3. The Seminoles responded with a 6-3 win at No. 3. Florida State captured the doubles with a 7-6 (3) win over the nation's NO. 12-ranked duo with Vic Allena and Millie Bissett acoming back from being down 1-5.
Sophomore Kristyna Lavickova extended the lead to 2-0 with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Mahak Jain at No. 5 singles.
Allen's 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 will go down in history as it, combined with her doubles victory, made her 10th all-time in FSU total victories with 160 wins.
Senior Ellie Schoppe clinched the match with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Kylie Blichev at No. 2 singles.
Florida State did not stop there as Anna Arkadinaou won 6-2, 7-5 over Alejandra Cruz at No. 3 singles and Maelie Monfils defeated Kate Sharabura 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
Florida State returns to action Sunday at 11 a.m. against No. 53 Clemson at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center. Live stats and video will be available on Seminoles.com.
