DJ Stewart and Cal Raleigh each have momentum at the plate and the former Seminole pitchers continue to dominate as Week 3 of the MLB season is now behind us.
DJ Stewart, OF, New York Mets
Stewart's bat got hot, collecting hits in three straight games to end the week. DJ has six RBIs, two home runs, a double, and two runs scored in his past five games.
Cal Raleigh, C, Seattle Mariners
In a three-game series versus the Blue Jays, Raleigh hit his first two home runs of the year and he collected hits in back-to-back games against the Cubs to close out the weekend.
Tyler Holton, P, Detroit Tigers
Holton appeared in three games this past week, going a combined 3.2 innings, allowing three hits and two earned runs. He pitched 1.2 innings of no hit, no run ball versus the Minnesota Twins on Saturday and faced the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday and Tuesday throwing one inning in each game.
Cole Sands, P, Minnesota Twins
Sands made two appearances on the week versus the Los Angeles Dodgers and Detroit Tigers. Over 2.0 innings of work against the Dodgers, he allowed one hit and struck out four batters. In Detroit, he threw 2.1 innings to earn his first save of the year following a no-hit, three-strikeout outing.
Luke Weaver, P, New York Yankees
Weaver pitched 2.0 innings on Wednesday versus the Marlins, giving up no runs and only one hit. On Sunday against the Guardians he gave up one earned run with three strikeouts in a 1.2 inning appearance.
Taylor Walls, INF, Tampa Bay Rays
Walls started the season on the 10-Day Injured List and has yet to make an appearance this season.
