Ting Wins Fortuner Cup Championship

SARAWAK, Malaysia -- Mirabel Ting, who earned All-American Honorable Honors as a Seminole in 2024, won the championship of the Fortuner Cup at the SIBU Golf Club with scores of 72-68-65 and a three-round total of 205. She won the championship with an 11-stroke victory over Geraldine Wong. Ting rallied to gain the victory after trailing Wong by one stroke after the first round of play. She gained the lead with a 2 under par score of 68 in the second round which gave her a three stroke lead after 36 holes had been played.
Ting's victory at the Fortuner Cup comes a week prior to beginning play at the Arnold Palmer Cup (July 5-7) at the Lahinch Golf Club in Lahinch, Ireland where the 2024 All-AC selection makes her second career appearance in the Ryder Cup-style competition which was first played in 1997.
Ting's three-round score of 205 put her at 5 under par for the par 70 course. She carded scores of 68-65 for a closing total of 133 over the final 36 holes of the championship.
Ting begins her junior season at Florida State in August, with the first event of her third collegiate season coming at the Folds of Honor Collegiate coming in September.
Ting Earned All-ACC Honors as she played in each of Florida State's seven events during her first season at Florida State during the spring of 2024. She was named as the co-ACC Golfer of the Month for March of 2024 and won her second career individual championship at the 2024 Valspar Augusta Invitational. The individual championship at the Valspar Augusta Invitational was her second career Individual victory.
Ting finished in a tie for eighth place in the 2024 Augusta National Women's Amateur with scores of 69-74-74 for a three-round total of 1 over par 217. She made the cut in her first career ANWA as she carded a 3 over par score of 74 in the second round and finished the first two rounds in a tie for fifth place with a two-round total of 1 under par 143. She carded scores of 69-74 with six birdies and one eagle over her first 36 holes.
