Nine From Men's Golf Named To ACC Academic Honor Roll

TALLAHASSEE – Nine members the NCAA runner-up Florida State men's golf team – including senior Cole Anderson for the fifth time and Frederik Kjettrup for the fourth time – have been named to the 2024 ACC Academic Honor Roll. Anderson and Kjettrup are joined on the Honor Roll by Gray Albright, Wilmer Edero, Sam Kodak, Michael Mays, Patrick McCann, James Tureskis, and Tyler Weaver.
The Seminoles concluded the 2023-24 season with runner-up finishes at both the ACC and NCAA Championships, victories at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup and Valspar Collegiate Invitational, and a No. 5 national ranking in the final Scoreboard Rankings by Clippd.
"Dedication to academic success is an integral part of our commitment to comprehensive excellence," said Head Coach Trey Jones. "Freddy and Cole are great leaders and they are proof that you can be successful both in the classroom and on the golf course. They set a very high standard for our program. To have nine guys on our team on the ACC Academic honor roll is a great achievement, and I couldn't be more proud of their hard work and dedication."
Anderson was one of nine Florida State student-athletes who was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll for the fifth time in his career in 2024.
"My mom always instilled that despite my obsession with athletics, my education came first and if my grades weren't 'up to par,' my ability to participate in sports would reflect that," said Anderson. "Luckily for me, I have always had a desire to learn, and have enjoyed being committed to my education. That type of attitude towards academics was easy to continue at Florida State, as the athletic department certainly takes their student-athlete's education seriously and holds us to a similar standard."
Anderson, who graduated from Florida State with a degree in finance in 2023 and competed as a graduate student in 2024, was named to the 2024 All-ACC Academic Men' Golf Team, the 2020-24 ACC Academic Honor Roll, and helped the men's golf team earn a 3.21 cumulative grade points average during the spring of 2024. As a Seminole golfer, he finished his career ranked fifth in school history with a 71.80 career scoring average.
Kjettrup, a three-time All-American who finished eighth in the 2014 PGA Tour University rankings, earned Dean's List honors while earning his degree in sport management from Florida State in 2024.
