TALLAHASSEE – Lottie Woad earned the prestigious Golden Torch for Women's Golf in recognition of her exceptional academic achievements and outstanding GPA during her sophomore year at Florida State University. Not only has Woad excel academically during her first two seasons as a Seminole, but she is also a remarkably talented golfer, proving herself to be the complete package as a student-athlete.

In her first two years at Florida State, Woad has earned numerous titles and accolades. She won the 2024 Golden Nole for Women's Golf and 2024 Golden Nole - Female Athlete of the Year presented by FSU Athletics, was named the 2024 ACC Golfer of the Year, and earned All-ACC honors for the second time in 2024. She was also named to the 2024 ANNIKA Award Top-10 Finalist list and the 2024 Division I PING WGCA Player of the Year Finalist list. Woad earned All-American First-Team honors from both the WGCA and Golfweek in 2024 and was recognized as a member of the 2024 WGCA All-American Scholar Team.

Woads currently holds the No. 1 spot in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for a total of 11 weeks, including six consecutive weeks. She was presented with the 2024 Mark H. McCormack Award (USGA/R&A) as the leading woman in the WAGR.

"Academics a part of my life that my family has always prioritized," sad Woad. "The academic success I have achieved during my career at Florida State definitely goes hand in hand with my success on the golf course. I have learned that to excel in both arenas takes discipline, the ability to prioritize my assignments and practice time, and make time to complete all my assignments before I get to the golf course. I feel that being on top of my academic assignments allows me to concentrate on golf when I am on the course."

Following a third place individual finish at the season-opening Folds of Honor Collegiate, Woad continues to rank as the No. 1 ranked amateur women's golfer in the world.

During the spring of 2024, Woad earned FSU Academic Dean's List Honors, was named to the All-Academic Women's Golf Team, and received ACC Academic Honor Roll and CSC Academic All-District Honors.

Woad was also recognized for her academic achievements as a freshman with awards that included being named to the 2023 All-ACC Academic Women's Golf Team, 2023 ACC Academic Honor Roll, and earned FSU Academic President's List Honors.

Woad is among 25 collegiate golfers on the ANNIKA Award Fall Watch list, a distinction she's earned each semester since the start of her freshman year in 2022. At the end of her sophomore season in 2024, she was named a Top-10 Finalist for the prestigious ANNIKA Award.
