Albright Wins 2025 Jones Cup

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State men's golf student-athlete Gray Albright held off his teammate Jack Bigham in the first playoff hole to win the Jones Cup on Sunday at the Ocean Forest Golf Club in Sea Island, Georgia.
Albright tied for the lead after two rounds of play, shooting 68 on Friday and 72 on Saturday, sitting at 4-under par, 140.
Bigham opened play shooting 73 on Friday, tying for 19th place. On Saturday, Bigham moved up to a tie for third place after shooting 68, sitting 3-under, 141.
Albright and Bigham competed in the final group on Sunday. Bigham shot 71, for the round, however Albright sank a 50-foot putt for birdie to force a playoff after turning in a 72. Albright made par on the first playoff hole to become the 21st Jones Cup Invitational champion with a par, while Bigham followed behind, shooting 71.
Tyler Weaver also made the final round of play, finishing in a 12th place tie, at 219 after shooting 70, 2-under on Sunday.
Sony Hawaii Open
The 2025 PGA Tour season began at the Sony Hawaii Open that ran from Jan. 9-12 at the Waialae Country Club.
Former Seminoles Vincent Norman, Cristobal Del Solar, Daniel Berger, John Pak, along with junior Luke Clanton were among the field.
Norman and Del Solar played through the weekend, with Norman placing 37th at 8-under par, 237, followed by Del Solar at 2-under, 270.
Berger finished at 2-under par, 138, while Clanton scored 1-under par, 137. Pak was 4-over, 144.
Berger, Norman, Del Solar and Pak are in the field for The American Express, which will take place at the Pete Dye Stadium Course
