TALLAHASSEE - The No. 10 Florida State men's tennis team will be one of 14 teams hosting the 2025 ITA Kickoff Weekend beginning on Friday. The Seminoles will host No. 16 South Carolina, No. 15 San Diego, and North Florida.

South Carolina and San Diego will begin play at 2 p.m. on Friday before Florida State meets with North Florida at 5 p.m. The consolation match will be played on Saturday at 2 p.m. before the winning teams face off at 5 p.m. All matches are scheduled to be played at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center, if weather forces play indoors, matches will be moved to the Indoor Tennis Courts.

UNC Wilmington withdrew from the competition due to severe winter weather across the Southeast. North Florida will fill in as the replacement team.

The winner from the weekend will advance to the 2025 ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Dallas and Waco, Texas from February 14-18.

FSU is unbeaten in 14 consecutive meetings with North Florida dating back to 1986 and defeated the Ospreys last season in the NCAA Tournament First Round. San Diego will make its first-ever appearance in Tallahassee, the Seminoles defeated the Toreros 4-2 in the opening round of the 2023 ITA Kickoff Weekend. FSU defeated South Carolina 4-1 in 2006 as the last matchup at home.

The Seminoles have begun the season at 5-1 with three home clinching sweeps and a complete 7-0 sweep over Georgia State last Thursday.

Jamie Connel and Corey Craig have emerged as one of the best Court 1 and 2 singles combinations in the country, the two have earned six wins across both courts. Connel is 4-1 with the lone defeat coming to the No. 5 player in the nation while Craig remains unbeaten in 2025. The Seminoles are one of three teams with two singles players ranked in the top 25. Connel was also named the inaugural 2025 ACC Player of the Week on January 14.

Alex Bulte and Youcef Rihane have dominated in doubles play to start the season with a 4-0 record through five appearances. All victories for the pairing have come through Court 1, winning 24 of 33 games in completed matches. The two All-Americans were named the inaugural 2025 ACC Doubles Team of the Week. FSU has three ranked doubles pairings from the preseason ITA rankings.
