Former FSU Softball Standouts Jessi Warren and Kalei Harding Selected in AUSL Draft

TALLAHASSEE - Two former Florida State softball standouts were selected in the inaugural Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL)Â Draft on Wednesday night as Jessi Warren was selected by the Volts with the 13th overall pick, and Kalei Harding was selected with the 47th overall pick by the Blaze.Â
A 2018 graduate of Florida State, Warren began her Athletes Unlimited career in 2020 and has continued to improve as the years have gone on. In 60 games, Warren has hit .326 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI. Warren continues to make jaw-dropping plays on the professional level which helped her earn the  AUX Defensive MVP twice in 2022 and 2023 while also earning the AU Pro Defensive Player of the Year award in 2023.Â
During her time in the Garnet and Gold, Warren put together arguably the greatest hitting career FSU has seen in her four years. Warren holds the FSU career record for batting average (.391), runs (229), home runs (83), RBI (273) and slugging percentage (.820). Warren was also a Rawlings Gold Glove winner in 2019 and helped the Noles to a National Championship in 2018.
Harding made a huge impact in her first year with Athletes Unlimited. In the AUX season, Harding hit .342 with 17 RBI including a AUX record nine RBI in the final game of the season. In the AU Championship season, Harding had two home runs and seven RBI in 13 games.Â
As a Seminole, Harding played in 251 games and finished with a .311 average to go along with 46 home runs and 208 RBI. Her 46 home runs are the third-most in FSU history and her 208 RBI are the fourth-most in FSU history. Harding also finished with 57 career doubles which is the second-most in FSU history.Â
The AUSLÂ will consist of two parts: the regular season and the All-Star Cup. The regular season will be 48 games in June and July and will culminate in a team championship between the four teams: the Bandits, the Blaze, the Talons and the Volts. The All-Star Cup is 24 games and will be culminate with an individual champion.Â
