Cross Country Gears Up for Pre-Nationals

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State cross country teams will be racing at the Pre-National meet on October 17 in Columbia, Missouri at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course. The meet will also serve as a pre-cursor to the 2025 NCAA Championship.
The women will run the 6k beginning at 11 a.m. ET, followed by the men's 8k at 11:45 a.m. Live timing will be available. Fans can also watch a livestream on the SEC Network+.
Both the men and women will be facing a tough field of competition. On the men's side, six teams in the USTFCCCA Coaches' Poll will be competing in Missouri. No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 6 BYU, No. 21 Washington State, No. 22 Arkansas, No. 24 Ole Miss, and No. 26 Eastern Kentucky.
Representing Florida State on the men's side are Parker Adams, Aniol Borrás Torramilans, Lucas Bouquot, Isaac Hirshman Chandler, Kaden Levings, Gino Palazzolo, Aidan Ryan and Finn Thomas.
The women's field is equally strong, as the Seminoles will compete against No. 1 BYU, No. 3 Florida, No. 8 Oklahoma State, No. 19 Villanova, No. 21 Missouri, No. 23 Boston College, No. 27 Washington State and No. 30 Tennessee.
The women's team will be represented by a strong lineup that includes Suus Altorf, Margaret Bartlow, Rylee Blade, Nicole Dinan, Brooke Hooper, Ava Povich, Bieke Schipperen and Lindy White.
Blade has been the top finisher for the women in two of the team's three meets this season, placing among the top three at both the FSU XC Invite and the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational.
LAST TIME OUT
Florida State competed at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational in Chicago on October 3 as the women's team placed seventh overall, ahead of three nationally ranked teams.
Blade was named the ACC Women's Freshman of the Week after placing third behind No. 2 NC State's Hannah Gapes and Bethany Michalak with a personal best time of 19:37.41. Schipperen followed in seventh with a career-best of 19:56.93. Hooper ran a lifetime-best of 20:40.00, placing 43rd. Altorf was the fourth Seminole to cross the line in 61st with a personal-best of 20:54.62. Povich rounded out the score for Florida State in 95th with a lifetime-best of 21:39.63.
On the men's side, Hirshman Chandler took charge and led the Seminoles with a 17th-place finish with a time of 23:55.83. Ryan placed 58th with a career best of 24:45.42. Palazzolo followed Ryan in 65th at 24:51.0. Levings was the fourth FSU scorer in 74th at 25:05.28. Bouquot concluded the scorecard for Florida State in 75th with a time of 25:07.96.
The men's team placed 12th overall as a team with a score of 279 points.
