TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State baseball team has added graduate transfer Gabe Nard to its roster for the 2026 season, head coach Link Jarrett announced.
Nard, a right-handed pitcher who played the first three seasons of his collegiate career at Duke, will be a senior in 2026 for the Seminoles.
"We are excited to announce Gabe Nard's entrance into our program for the upcoming season," Jarrett said. "Completing his Duke degree last week is clearly an accomplishment, and now he is set to engage and compete with our team. He is an experienced winner, logging 120 innings, and will have a great impact on our pitching staff in 2026."
In three years with the Blue Devils, Nard appeared in 80 games, all but three in relief, and posted a 9-5 record in 120.2 innings pitched. With a 4.10 ERA, he allowed 55 earned runs on 120 hits with 98 strikeouts and 53 walks. Nard held opponents to a .260 batting average.
Nard has pitched in five NCAA games in his career, including 2.1 shutout innings in the 2025 NCAA Regional-clinching win, a career-long 4.0 innings in the 2024 Regional and 1.0 no-hit innings in the 2023 Super Regional, his postseason debut on the mound.
As a junior in 2025, Nard made 29 appearances with two starts and went 6-2 with a .247 opponent's batting average. In 50.2 innings, he allowed 26 earned runs on 49 hits with 45 strikeouts and 17 walks for a 4.62 ERA.
In 2024 as a sophomore, Nard pitched in 30 games with one start with a 2.60 ERA. He allowed 13 earned runs on 42 hits with 34 strikeouts and 20 walks in 45.0 innings.
Nard's freshman campaign in 2023 saw him appear in 21 games, all in relief. In 25.0 innings, he allowed 16 earned runs on 29 hits with 19 strikeouts and 16 walks for a 5.76 ERA.
Named to the All-ACC Academic Team and the ACC Academic Honor Roll all three seasons, Nard graduated from Duke this fall with a degree in sociology. He hails from Shaker Heights, Ohio.
In high school at Saint Ignatius of Cleveland, Nard was the No. 2-ranked shortstop in Ohio by PBR and was a first team All-State honoree. He started the 2019 state championship game as a freshman as the team won its second state title. Nard went 23-0 with a 0.87 ERA in four seasons.
