Noles Fall to Georgia in ACC/SEC Challenge

TALLAHASSEE - The Florida State women's basketball team (4-6) fell to the Georgia Bulldogs (10-0) 80-60 Wednesday night at the Donald L. Tucker Center.
Three Seminoles scored in double figures, led by junior guard Solé Williams with 13 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Graduate forward Allie Kubek followed with 11 points, shooting 3-7 from beyond-the-arc, while senior guard Jasmine Shavers scored 10 points.Â
Junior center Pania Davis led the team in rebounds with nine, also adding nine points.
Florida State shot 40 percent in the first quarter, holding the Bulldogs to a scoring drought with a minute remaining and a 6-0 run. The half concluded with the Noles trailing 41-25. Davis recorded eight points and seven rebounds in the first half.Â
FSU started the third on a 6-0 run, forcing Georgia to call timeout after  Kubek and Williams converted threes to start. Williams scored nine of the 18 points in the quarter.Â
In the fourth, the Seminoles cut into the lead, trailing by eight, 59-51.  The Bulldogs answered the charge, and pulled away, 80-60. Â
Florida State will return to host No. 18/19 Notre Dame to being ACC play on Sunday, Dec. 7 at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center. The game will air on ACC Network Extra at 2 p.m.Â
