TALLAHASSEE – Clemson's Dillon Hunter scored a game-high 17 points and Ian Schieffelin totaled a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the No. 19/23 Tigers to a 72-46 win over Florida State at the Donald L. Tucker Center. The Tigers scored the first two points of the game and never trailed in earning the ACC road victory.

Florida State is now 15-10 and 6-8 in the ACC. Clemson is now 21-5 and 13-2 in the ACC.

Jamir Watkins led the Seminoles with 14 points and seven rebounds, with one assist and one steal.  He has scored in double figures in four consecutive and 23 of 25 games this season.

Sophomore Taylor Bol Bowen finished with a team-high seven rebounds and one steal.  Freshman Daquan Davis scored nine points, all coming in the second half. Junior Malique Ewin finished with six points and six rebounds. Senior Justin Thomas hit a three-pointer at the first-half buzzer and finished with six points.

Following the game, Clemson head coach Brad Brownell spoke of Seminole head coach Leonard Hamilton.

"My opening statement is going to be just really, to thank Coach Hamilton for all he's done for our profession. He's a legend. I hope he becomes a Hall of Famer. He's just done so much for so many, a lot of Black coaches growing up. He's been a mentor and a leader. I've had the good fortune of competing against his teams every year, twice, and I've seen some of the great Florida State teams over the years," said Brownell.

Brownell continued to speak glowingly about Hamilton, the fifth-winningest coach in ACC history.

"He does an unbelievable job. He doesn't get enough credit for the way he recruits to his style, their style of play throughout the course of his career. It's very unique. It's obviously been highly successful. I just have a ton of respect for him. Over the years, obviously, I've been in league 15 years. He's been with me the whole time; more like I've been with him. We've been in a lot of different settings together, and he's a consummate professional and gentlemen."

Florida State will look to bounce back as they play host the Miami Hurricanes for their second matchup of the season on February 19 at 9:00 PM at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.
