Noles Lead After First Round of Watersound

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - The Florida State men's golf team started the Watersound Invitational on Monday at the Shark's Tooth Golf Course in Panama City Beach, Florida.
 
The Seminoles are sitting in first place at 10-under par, 278 ahead of No. 12 UCLA by three strokes in the 54-hole tournament.
 
Gray Albright and Michael Mays are tied for the lead finishing the first round at 5-under par, 67.
 
Albright earned seven birdies in the round, while Mays carded an eagle on the 15th hole and added two more birdies down the stretch.
 
Jack Bigham started off the first nine of the day even with one birdie and one bogey He will start the second round tied for 13th at 1-under par, 71.
 
Tyler Weaver and Luke Clanton are tied for 28th place after scoring 1-over, 73 on the day.
 
Competing individually, Wilmer Edero was first in the clubhouse, carding 16 pars. He finished the round even 72, sitting tied for18th place.  Andrew McLauchlan secured four birdies, also shooting even.
 
Carson Brewer shot 2-over 74, while Patrick McCann was 5-over 77.
 
Due to the threat of inclement weather on Wednesday, the teams will play 36 holes on Tuesday.
