TALLAHASSEE - The Florida State softball team's season came to a close on Friday in a 2-1 loss to Texas Tech in the Tallahassee Super Regional. FSU ends the season with a 49-12 record.Â
Texas Tech scored the game's first run on a sac fly in the bottom of the first to put the Red Raiders up 1-0. Neither team got much going offensively until the fifth inning when Hallie Wacaser roped a one-out double to left center field to give the Noles their first runner in scoring position of the game. Addie DeLong pinch ran for Wacaser and moved to third on a wild pitch, but FSU was unable to capitalize.Â
Texas Tech took advantage of two errors in the bottom of the fifth and were able to push another run across. The Noles had their best offensive inning of the weekend in the top of the seventh as Katie Dack drew a leadoff walk, and Michaela Edenfield doubled to put runners on second and third with no one out. Shelby McKenzie drove in Dack on a groundout. Edenfield moved to third on the groundout, but the Noles stranded her there.Â
