Weaver Selected for 50th Walker Cup

TALLAHASSEE– Florida State men's golf rising junior Tyler Weaver was selected to represent Great Britain and Ireland for the 50th Walker Cup, which will be held at Cypress Point in Pebble Beach, California on Sept. 6-7. The teams were announced on Monday by the USGA and The R&A.
Weaver, who climbed to No. 11 in the World Golf Amateur Rankings this summer, is the highest ranked golfer on the 10-player GB&I team.
Weaver advanced to match play at the 2025 U.S. Amateur last week and helped Great Britain and Ireland win the St. Andrews Team Trophy. Weaver was also a part of Team International that won the Palmer Cup in June, and he led Team England to bronze at the European Team Championships.
Individually, Weaver qualified for the 125th U.S. Open at Oakmont, where he finished fourth among amateurs.
The match play event will air on Peacock and the Golf Chanel both days. Team USA leads the series 39-9-1. Team GB&I last took home the Walker Cup in 2015 behind a 16 ½, 9 ½ victory at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club in Lancashire, England.
