TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State cross country teams will host the annual FSU XC Invite on Friday at Apalachee Regional Park, which will serve as the Seminole Heritage event.
The men will start things off at 7:40 a.m. with the 8k, followed by the women in the 6k at 8:20 a.m. Admission and parking are free to all participating teams and spectators. Live timing will be available. Fans can watch the action on the Seminoles' YouTube Channel and the unconquered mobile app.
Apalachee Regional Park will also host the World Cross Country Athletic Championships in 2026, marking the first time an American city has hosted the event since 1992, when the championships were held in Boston. The 2026 championships will be just the third time the championships have been contested on American soil.
At last year's FSU Invite, the Seminoles made quick work of the field in both the men's and women's races. The men took first as a team with a score of 41 points, while taking two of the top five individual spots. Lucas Bouquot led the Seminoles in the 8k with a personal-best time of 24:43.0.
On the women's side, Nicole Dinan led the way for a second-place team finish with a score of 52 points. Emily Brown followed Dinan at 17:42.7. Suus Altorf came in as the third FSU scorer with a time of 17:49.9.
Florida State will have a similar lineup from the season's first two meets on the women's side, with the addition of Rylee Blade making her anticipated debut on the Seminoles' home course.
Bouquot will compete at Apalachee Regional Park for the final time in his career, while Gino Palazzalo, Aidan Ryan, Aniol Borras Torramilans and Parker Adams are set to step foot on the home course for the first time as Seminoles. Kaden Levings, Tanner Simonds, Finn Thomas, Zach Trotter, and Bernardo Barnhart also return to the lineup.
