No. 7 Beach Volleyball Goes Undefeated in Pompano

TALLAHASSEE – The No. 7 beach volleyball team wrapped up the Florida Atlantic Beach Invitational with two wins, defeating Tampa and No. 6 TCU. FSU went undefeated in Pompano, recording multiple ranked victories and extending their current win streak to six matches. Â
The Seminoles took on Tampa to open day two of the Invite and recorded their sixth complete dual sweep of the season. New duo Audrey Rothman and Saofe Duval took court three with set scores at 21-19 and 21-16, earning the second dual point for Florida State. Court four commenced after FSU reached three dual points, with Iane Henke and Kenzie Hultquist adding the fourth point at 21-13, 21-14. Â
FSU's final match of the tournament came against conference opponent No. 6 TCU, who won in the most recent meeting between the schools 3-2. The dual came down to court two's Gella Andrew and Maddie Trusty, who took set one 21-16. TCU forced a third set, but FSU managed to come out on top at 15-13. The Seminoles victory marks their seventh AVCA Top 25 victory this season. Â
Florida State continues their season by traveling to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, taking on four new opponents. The tournament begins with No. 17 GCU and No. 10 Cal, followed by final day matches against conference foes Boise State and No. 8 ASU. Live stats can be found on Seminoles.com.Â
