TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State men's tennis team (9-9, 1-5 ACC) continues its road trip this week, beginning with a doubleheader in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, Thursday before a Sunday match at SMU in Dallas.

Florida State will first face ACC opponent Boston College (4-8, 0-6 ACC) on Thursday at 12:00 p.m., followed by a non-conference matchup against Holy Cross (3-7) at 6:00 p.m. The Seminoles will face another conference challenge against SMU (13-7, 3-2) Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

The Seminoles have remained spotless against Boston College through 22 matches and have won all 21 meetings in the conference since 2006.

The Seminoles and Mustangs have met only three times in the series' history, with the Seminoles holding a 2-1 overall lead. FSU swept SMU 4-0 last season in Tallahassee, the Mustangs' first year in the ACC.

SMU has been hot all season long, with a historic win recently when they took down No. 8 Baylor, 4-2. The win marked SMU's first win over Baylor since 2001 and the first team win in Waco since 1997.

SMU is led by Trevor Svajda, who is ranked No. 2 in the ITA singles rankings as of March 3. Svajda holds an impressive 13-1 record in singles play this spring and has dropped just two sets. The California native has also secured five wins over ranked opponents this season, including victories against Devin Badenhorst of Baylor (No. 12), Aidan Kim of Ohio State (No. 13) and Adhitya Ganesan of Florida (No. 54).

Florida State heads into the weekend with momentum after a strong conference win over Georgia Tech. Doubles play set the tone early, as the pairing of Justin Lyons and Mohammad Alkotop secured the doubles point, marking their third ACC victory of the season. Lyons carried that momentum into singles, delivering a dominant performance on court six against Richard Biagiotti to give Florida State a 2-0 advantage.

In singles action, Erik Schiessl earned his second ACC win with a hard-fought three-set victory over Hidde Schoenmakers. Corey Craig extended his win streak, battling through another three-set match to defeat Christophe Clement to clinch the match for the Seminoles.
