Seminoles Wrap Relays, Continue NCAA Championships

ATLANTA – The Florida State swimming and diving team continued competition at the 2026 Division I NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships with two events on Thursday at McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Seminoles were represented in the 200 freestyle relay and on the 1-meter springboard on day two of the four-day championships.

Redshirt senior Kayleigh Clark opened her championships week on 1-meter, scoring 266.80 and finishing 17th overall. She'll return to the national stage Friday afternoon for 3-meter and Saturday for the platform event.

Placing 25th overall, the 200 freestyle relay team of sophomores Maryn McDade and Alice Velden, senior Sarah Evans and sophomore Mary Leigh Hardman clocked a 1:29.07, marking the fifth-fastest time in school history.

"It was a great day with a really good relay," FSU head coach Neal Studd said. "Kayleigh dove amazingly and just missed scoring, but with her best events still ahead, it's really exciting."

Thursday marked the conclusion of Florida State's relays and the final NCAA swim of Evans' career. McDade and Hardman also wrapped up their competition, while Clark and Velden will continue their meet in individual events on Friday.

The four-day championship will continue Friday, with the meet running through Saturday, March 21. Florida State will have three individual competitors, Clark on 3-meter, Velden in the 100 backstroke and freshman Lucy Porter in the 200 breaststroke, with swimming prelims beginning at 10 a.m. ET and diving prelims at 12 p.m.

The top eight finishers in every event will advance to the finals and determine places 1-8. Athletes who finish 9-16 will not compete in a B final; their final placement and point totals will be determined based on their finish in prelims. Relays are timed finals, with two relays competed in prelims and the last in the evening finals. Diving prelims begin at 12:30 p.m. ET each day, with the top eight finishers advancing to finals.

All sessions will be streamed live on ESPN+. Live results can be found at Meet Mobile and online here, and additional championships info is available here. Direct links and live updates can be found by following and connecting with the Seminoles on Twitter/X, Instagram and Facebook.
