No. 18 Seminoles, Fullbrook Win Championships at Florida State Match Up

TALLAHASSEE – Sophomore Sophia Fullbrook won the individual championship, and the No. 18 Seminoles won the team championship as play in the 13th Annual Florida State Match Up at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club came to a close. Fullbrook won her first career individual championship and became the seventh Seminole to earn medalist honors in the Match Up while the Seminoles defended their team championship and won the team championship for the tournament record sixth time.
Fullbrook outdistanced Kaitlyn Schroeder of North Florida by five strokes. She moved into the individual lead in the second round and led in both the second and third rounds. Florida State won the team championship by eight strokes over Eastern Michigan.
The Seminoles have now won the team championship of the Florida State Match Up a record six times (2016, 2017, 2021, 2023 2025, and 2026) including in consecutive seasons (2025 and 2026) and in three of the last four years (2023, 2025, 2026). The individual champion has been a Seminole also in a record seven seasons (2014, Matilda Castren; Morgane Metraux, 2017; Beatrice Wallin, 2021; Amelia Williamson, 2022; Lottie Woad, 2023; Mirabel Ting, 2025, Fullbrook, 2026) including five of the last six years.
Bond, who is the winningest coach in Florida State history, earned her 28th victory during her 16-year Florida State career. The win marks the second win of the year for the Seminoles as they also won the Collegiate Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club in January. Under Bond, the Seminoles have won multiple tournaments in eight different seasons.
Fullbrook won the championships with scores of 69-67-70 for a three round total of 206. She won her first career championship with career-best scores for a tournament score (206) and a tournament score vs. par (-10). Fullbrook carded three birdies and 17 holes scored at par or better in her championship clinching third round.
Fullbrook victory awarded the 70th individual championship won by a Seminole. Cindy Peterka won the first individual championship by a Seminole as she won the championship of the 1972 Florida Intercollegiate Tournament. She claimed the 37th individual championship by a Seminole since Bond took over as the Seminoles' head coach for the 2010-11 season.
Sophomore Elin Pudas Remler finished in a tie for fourth and freshman Haruhi Nakatani finished in a tie for ninth place. The Seminoles were the only team to finish the event with three golfers in the top-10 of the individual standings.
Pudas Remler finished with scores of 72-69-73 for a three round total of 2 under par 214. She earned five birdies and the first eagle of her collegiate career in the third round. Pudas Remler has now finished in the top four of the last two stroke play tournaments. She finished in second place at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate.
Nakatani totaled scores of 70-71-75 for an even par tournament score of 216. She carded three birdies in the third round and 12 total for the 54 holes played in the Florida State Match Up.
Florida State closes out its regular season at the Coach Mo Classic which is played at the St. John's Golf and Country Club in St. Augustine, Fla. (March 30-31). The Seminoles defend their ACC Championship title at the ACC Championships at the Porter's Neck Country Club in Wilmington, N.C. (April 16-19).
Bond and the Seminoles play host to the NCAA Tallahassee Regional Championship at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club (May 11-13). Admission and parking for the NCAA Tallahassee Regional are free.
