Seminoles Open ACC Tournament Against Georgia Tech in Second Round

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women's tennis team (6-16, 2-10 ACC) opens play in the ACC Tournament on Wednesday, entering as the No. 14 seed and facing No. 11 seed Georgia Tech (10-13, 4-8) at 6 p.m. at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina.
Florida State holds a 24-18 advantage in the all-time series and will meet the Yellow Jackets for the second time this season after a 4-2 loss in Atlanta in March. The two programs are familiar opponents in the ACC Tournament, where the Seminoles own a 4-2 record in matchups dating back to 1997. In the tournament's 34-year history, the Seminoles have 38 wins, 19 semifinal appearances and have advanced to the championship match three times.
In the regular-season meeting, Florida State secured the doubles point with wins on Courts 2 and 3. Cade Cricchio and Mary Boyce Deatherage picked up a 6-4 victory on Court 3 before Tina Li and Kristyna Lavickova clinched the point with a 7-5 win.
Lavickova recorded the Seminoles' lone singles point, defeating Olivia Carneiro 6-2, 6-2 on Court 5.
