SERIES HISTORY VS. NOTRE DAME
The Seminoles are 27-17 all-time against Notre Dame, including 16-7 at home, 10-8 on the road and 1-2 at a neutral site. FSU won the first four games in the series, all in Tallahassee, beginning with a 12-5 win in 1956. The two teams have met every year since 2014 except for the shortened 2020 season, a streak that includes seven consecutive wins from 2016-2017. Florida State swept the series at Howser in 2024 and took two-of-three in Indiana a year ago from March 28-30, dropping the opener before winning both games of a doubleheader two days later.

The 2025 series began with a 16-9 loss on March 28. The Seminoles scored nine runs on 13 hits with two errors while the Fighting Irish scored 16 runs on 15 hits with one error. Florida State hit six home runs in the defeat. Rain forced a doubleheader on Sunday, which began with a 4-2, seven-inning win. Throwing a complete game, Joey Volini allowed just two runs on four hits with a career-high-tying 11 strikeouts. In the finale, FSU completed the doubleheader sweep with a 17-9 victory, aided by five home runs. FSU scored five in the first, seven in the second and two in the third to highlight the offensive showing. Chris Knier earned his first career win and did not allow a run on two hits with a strikeout and a walk in 1.2 innings.

SCOUTING THE FIGHTING IRISH
Notre Dame is 17-15 on the season, 7-6 at home, 7-7 on the road and 3-2 at a neutral site. UND is 7-11 in ACC play and in 13th place following a series loss to Virginia last weekend. The Fighting Irish own an ACC sweep over Clemson and a series win at Duke. The team is coming off a 6-1 win over Valparaiso on Tuesday night.

LAST TIME OUT: BACK HOME FOR AN IN-STATE WIN
FSU returned home and began a four-game homestand with a 9-2 win over Stetson on Tuesday night. The Seminoles jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, regained a 4-1 advantage in the third and added five insurance runs in the seventh while holding the Hatters to single runs in the third and sixth. Carns hit his third home run of the season, all coming in the last seven games. He had a career-best five RBI with three hits and two runs scored. Carns' three-run home run in the third inning proved to be the game-winner, his second game-winning hit of the year. Junior left-handed starter Cooper Whited earned the win to improve to 2-2 on the season. In 3.0 innings, he allowed one unearned run on one hit with three strikeouts and no walks. Four relievers followed him and held Stetson to one run on six hits with nine strikeouts and two walks in the final 6.0 innings. With the victory, FSU improves to 72-26 all-time vs. Stetson and 46-11 at home. The Seminoles have won four in a row and nine of the last 12 in the in-state series with the help of a 6-3 win two weeks ago on the road.
