Former Seminole Lottie Woad to Represent Europe in Solheim Cup

TALLAHASSEE – Former Florida State women's golfer Lottie Woad is representing Team Europe at the 2026 Solheim Cup, becoming the third Seminole in program history to compete in the prestigious biennial competition.

Woad is one of 12 players on the European team captained by Sweden's Anna Nordqvist. She is joined on Team Europe by Charley Hull (England), Esther Henseleit (Germany), Maja Stark (Sweden), Celine Boutier (France), Carlota Ciganda (Spain), Linn Grant (Sweden), Nanna Koerstz Madsen (Denmark), Leona Maguire (Ireland), Julia Lopez Ramirez (Spain), Nastasia Nadaud (France) and Mimi Rhodes (England).

The 2026 Solheim Cup marks the latest accomplishment in a remarkable rise for Woad, who turned professional on July 15, 2025, after spending three seasons at Florida State. The Farnham, England, native was ranked No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for 50 consecutive weeks before beginning her professional career.

Woad earned her place on the European team as an automatic qualifier through her standing in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings where she is currently ranked No. 7.

Before turning professional, Woad established herself as one of the most decorated golfers in Florida State history. She finished her Seminole career with a school-record 70.42 stroke average and became the first five-time All-American in school history. She earned WGCA First-Team All-America honors in each of her three seasons and was a First-Team All-American by Golfweek in her final two seasons.

Woad also became the first Seminole to win the Augusta National Women's Amateur, capturing the championship in 2024. She recorded top 10 finishes at the NCAA Championship in each of her final two seasons, finishing runner-up in 2024 and eighth in 2025.

The 2024 ACC Golfer of the Year, Woad was a three-time All-ACC selection and was named the WGCA National Freshman of the Year in 2023. She was also a two-time finalist for the ANNIKA Award, finishing as the runner-up in 2024 and a finalist again in 2025.

Woad becomes the third Seminole to compete in the Solheim Cup, joining Matilda Castren and Karen Stupples. Castren represented Europe in 2021, while Stupples competed for Europe in 2005 and 20011.

The Solheim Cup, first contested in 1990, features 12-player teams representing Europe and the United States in a biennial match-play competition. The 2026 event is being held Sept. 11-13 at Bernardus Golf, located in the village of Cromvoirt, Netherlands and will be nationally televised on the Golf Channel.
