Rusher Prepares to Open Season at ITA All-American Championships

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State men's tennis team will be sending Azariah Rusher to compete at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The tournament begins Saturday and is being held at The Michael D. Case Tennis Center and the Case Tennis Center at LaFortune Park.
The championships will begin with pre-qualifying rounds before moving into official qualifying Monday and Tuesday. Main draw action begins Wednesday with 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams, with champions crowned Sunday.
Ten singles players will qualify for the 2026 NCAA Singles Championship, while the four doubles semifinalists will earn spots in the NCAA Doubles Championship. The event features the most NCAA qualifying spots of the season and is the first of three events to offer NCAA Individual Championships berths.
Rusher, a senior, will begin playing in the singles qualifying portion of the tournament starting on Monday. Rusher led the team last year with a 19-12 overall record, while recording six singles wins in ACC play, helping Florida State make an appearance in quarterfinals of the 2025 ACC Championships for the second year in a row.
