Seminoles Take on No. 16 Kansas, Lipscomb in Nashville

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State volleyball team continues its 2026 season on the road, traveling to Nashville for the LUV Invitational. The Seminoles will open the invitational Friday against No. 16 Kansas at 4 p.m. ET before taking on host Lipscomb Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
Florida State holds a 2-0 all-time record against Kansas, with the most recent matchup coming in the first round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament where the Seminoles swept the Jayhawks, 3-0. The teams first met in 2007 at the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Michigan, where FSU claimed a 3-1 victory. Kansas enters Friday's matchup 0-2 after falling to No. 4 Pittsburgh and No. 5 Stanford to open the season.
Florida State and Lipscomb will meet for the first time on Saturday. The Bisons enter the weekend with a 2-0 record after earning victories over Memphis and College of Charleston.
FSU is coming off a 2-1 weekend at the FGCU Invitational, where the Seminoles earned wins over VCU and FGCU. Preseason All-ACC senior outside hitter Kyleene Filimaua led the Seminoles offensively with 51 points, 41 kills and eight aces. Filimaua also surpassed Hailey Luke (2013-16) for the most career service attempts in program history, reaching 1,403 during Saturday's match against VCU.
Florida State was also led by junior middle blocker Delaney Ewing and freshman outside hitter Sofia Moss, who were both named to the FGCU Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Ewing recorded a career-high 14 kills in FSU's 3-1 victory over VCU and finished the weekend with 37 points, 32 kills, a .424 hitting percentage and 10 blocks.
Moss made an immediate impact in her Seminole debut, recording six aces against No. 24 BYU. She finished the weekend with 42 points, 32 kills and a team-high nine aces.
Both matches will be broadcast live on ESPN+, and live stats will be available on Seminoles.com.
