TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The sixth-ranked Florida State softball team (33-7-1) hosts NC State (24-17) this weekend for the final home weekend of the regular season. Florida State leads the all-time series against the Wolfpack 38-11. The last time the two teams met for a three-game series in 2019, FSU won all three games, including two run-rule victories.
The Seminoles and Wolfpack are scheduled to play one game Friday, April 30 at 6 pm, a doubleheader on Saturday, May 1 starting at 1 pm and one game on Sunday, May 2 at 12 pm. All four games this weekend will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
Friday’s game is Florida State’s Player’s Weekend game. The Seminoles are wearing jerseys with nicknames that have significance to each player on the back. Saturday the Seminoles are wearing throwback uniforms for Alumni Day and Sunday FSU is celebrating their seniors on senior day.
FLORIDA STATE VS. NC STATE
Florida State and NC State have met 49 times, with the Seminoles earning wins in 38 of the 49 games. The two teams last met in 2019 for a three-game series, resulting in three wins for FSU, including two run-rule victories. In the first game of the series in 2019 Meghan King threw a no-hitter against the Wolfpack.
Through 41 games this season, the Seminoles have shown their speed recording 93 stolen bases in 105 attempts. Devyn Flaherty leads the Noles with 15 stolen bases.
The Seminole offense has scored 2016 runs in the first 41 games of the season. This has come as the Seminoles have put together 83 total extra-base hits, including 33 home runs and 46 doubles to go with four triples. Kalei Harding is leading the way with three home runs to go with eight doubles and three triples.
Caylan Arnold and Kathryn Sandercock are leading the Seminole pitching staff. They have combined for 27 wins and 180 strikeouts. Arnold leads Florida State with 105 strikeouts and Sandercock leads the team with a 1.14 ERA and an 18-1 record.
