No. 7 Softball Heads to Louisville

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The seventh-ranked Florida State softball team (31-6) travels to Louisville this weekend for a four-game series against the Cardinals (16-21).
The Seminoles and Cardinals are scheduled to play two games on Friday, April 23 starting at 3 pm and another doubleheader on Sunday, April 25 starting at 12 pm due to expected weather on Saturday. The first game of each day will be on the ACC Network with the second games of the doubleheaders scheduled to be on ACCNX.
Florida State heads into the series riding a 15 game winning streak. During that streak, the Seminoles have recorded seven shutouts while only allowing 15 runs. Last week in Syracuse the Seminoles hit 13 home runs, including a six home run game against the Orange, tying a program record.
FLORIDA STATE VS. LOUISVILLE
Florida State and Louisville have met 20 times, with the Seminoles earning wins in 14 of the 20 games. The two teams last met in 2019 for a three-game series, resulting in two wins for Louisville. FSU is 11-4 against the Cardinals under head coach Lonni Alameda.
Through 37 games this season, the Seminoles have shown their speed recording 85 stolen bases in 94 attempts. Devyn Flaherty leads the Noles with 13 stolen bases each.
The Seminole offense has scored 196 runs in the first 37 games of the season. This has come as the Seminoles have put together 75 total extra-base hits, including 31 home runs and 40 doubles to go with four triples. Kalei Harding is leading the way with three home runs to go with eight doubles and three triples.
Caylan Arnold and Kathryn Sandercock are leading the Seminole pitching staff. They have combined for 25 wins and 158 strikeouts. Arnold leads Florida State with 94 strikeouts and Sandercock leads the team with a 1.30 ERA and a 16-1 record.
