No. 9 Softball Heads to Syracuse

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The ninth-ranked Florida State softball team (27-6) travels to Syracuse this weekend for a four-game series against the Orange (15-11).
The Seminoles and Orange are scheduled to play one game on Friday, April 16 at 4 pm, a doubleheader on Saturday, April 17 starting at 1 pm and one game on Sunday, April 18 at 12 pm. All four games will be broadcasted on ACCNX.
FLORIDA STATE VS. SYRACUSE
Florida State and Syracuse have met 23 times, with the Seminoles earning wins in 21 of the 23 games. The two teams last met in 2019 for a three-game series, resulting in three run-rule victories for Florida State.
Through 33 games this season, the Seminoles have shown their speed recording 78 stolen bases in 86 attempts. Devyn Flaherty leads the Noles with 13 stolen bases each.
The Seminole offense has scored 134 runs in the first 33 games of the season. This has come as the Seminoles have put together 56 total extra-base hits, including 18 home runs and 34 doubles to go with four triples. Kalei Harding is leading the way with one home run to go with seven doubles and three triples.
Caylan Arnold and Kathryn Sandercock are leading the Seminole pitching staff. They have combined for 22 wins and 139 strikeouts. Arnold leads Florida State with 83 strikeouts and Sandercock leads the team with a 1.29 ERA and a 14-1 record.
Sandercock was named the ACC Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday for going 2-0 against No. 20 Duke. She did not allow a single run in 9.1 innings of work.
