TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State track and field athletes Don’drea Swint and Edidiong Odiong were both named ACC Indoor Track Performers of the week by the Atlantic Coast Conference Tuesday afternoon.
“Both Don’drea and Edidiong ran amazing races last weekend,” Head Coach Bob Braman said. “Both are in the top four in FSU history in their respective events which is really impressive for a season-opening race.”
Both athletes had stellar performances this past weekend at the Clemson Invitational. Swint clocked the third-fastest time in FSU history in the 60m dash on Friday with a time of 6.53. Swint’s time leads the ACC and is third nationally. Swint’s previous top time was 6.63 at the Bob Pollock Invitational last January in Clemson. This is the second time Swint has been named the ACC Indoor Track Performer of the week with his first honor coming on Feb. 3, 2021.
Odiong continued to climb the FSU record books in the indoor 200m dash. Odiong won the event at the Clemson Invitational with a personal-best time of 23.34. Odiong’s time moves her from eighth to fourth in the FSU record books and is the second-best time in the NCAA this season. Odiong also ran a leg in the 4x400m relay team that posted the fourth-best time in the ACC (3:43.22). This is the first time Odiong has received and ACC Performer of the Week award.
The Noles will be back in action on Jan. 28-29 at the Texas Tech Invitational and the Bob Pollock Meet. For updates and exclusive content, follow the Noles on Twitter (FSU_Track), Instagram (fsu_track) and Facebook (Florida State Track and Field).
