Sandercock Named ACC Pitcher of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State’s Kathryn Sandercock was named the ACC Pitcher of the Week Tuesday morning following her performance against No. 15 Duke this past weekend. This is the fifth time Sandercock has been named the ACC Pitcher of the Week in her career and the first time she has been named this season.
The right-hander from McLean, Va., led the Noles to two victories in a series win over No. 15 Duke this past weekend. Sandercock picked up two wins in her two appearances against the Blue Devils. In 10 innings, Sandercock allowed just one earned run against a team that came into the weekend averaging 6.53 runs a game. Sandercock allowed just four hits and held the Blue Devils to their lowest hit totals of the season in both Friday’s and Sunday’s games.
In Friday’s game, Sandercock put together one of her best performances of the season. In five innings, she allowed just one hit while striking out three batters and did not allow a walk.
In Sunday’s game, Sandercock started with a 3-0 lead and maintained that lead, allowing just one earned run in five innings pitched. Sandercock picked up her second and third wins over a ranked opponent, the most in the ACC, and improved to 11-3 in the 2023 season. Sandercock continues to climb her way up the FSU softball record books as she is now tied for fifth all-time in career wins with 90.
