OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The third-seeded Florida State softball team (58-10) fell 5-0 in the first game of the Women’s College World Series Championship Series to top-seeded Oklahoma (60-1) at OGE Energy Field on Wednesday night.

Inclement weather in the area forced an hour-long delay before first pitch, however, four outs were recorded before another weather delay ensued. The game resumed 40 minutes later.

Mack Leonard made her second start in the circle at the Women’s College World Series, keeping the OU lineup scoreless through the opening three innings. She sent two batters down swinging and retired four-straight on two separate occasions.

The Florida State offense was unable to capitalize on Michaela Edenfield’s single in the third along with leaving runners in scoring position in the fourth.

Oklahoma took control in the bottom of the fourth inning by scoring three runs.

The Seminoles need to tie the series to force a third game to keep their national championship dream alive.

Game two is set for Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
