NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The No. 3 Florida State softball team (49-8) cruised to a 9-1 win in six innings over No. 22 Virginia Tech (37-18) to advance to their 25th ACC Championship game. The Seminoles will be looking for its 19th ACC Tournament Championship tomorrow and their 8th championship in the past 9 seasons. The Seminoles will play the winner of Clemson and Duke at 1 p.m. on ESPN2.

The Seminoles jumped all over the Hokies as they recorded nine runs on 11 hits. The Seminoles also hit an ACC Tournament record five doubles. The Noles opened up the game with three-straight hits as Kalei Harding scored Kaley Mudge and Jahni Kerr off a double to give the Noles the early 2-0 lead. Mack Leonard doubled to drive in her fourth run of the tournament, and Devyn Flaherty hit a single into center to give the Noles a 4-0 lead after the first inning.

Harding continued her terrific day with a moonshot over the left field fence for her ninth home run of the season to give the Noles a 6-0 lead.

Kathryn Sandercock threw an absolute gem of a game as she pitched a complete game and allowed just three hits and one run while striking out six. She improved to 22-3 on the year and has won her last 15 decisions.

Three-straight doubles from Josie Muffley, Mudge and Kerr brought home two more runs for the Noles in the sixth inning, and Michaela Edenfield picked up a RBI on a fielder’s choice to end the game.

Harding’s four RBI tied her career high as she was one of four Noles to record two or more hits on the afternoon.
