Softball Places Six on 2021 All-ACC Teams

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida State placed six student-athletes on the 2021 All-ACC Teams as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Tuesday. Sydney Sherrill was also named the ACC’s Defensive Player of the Year as announced by the conference earlier today.

Sherrill is joined by Devyn Flaherty and Kathryn Sandercock on the first team. Caylan Arnold was named to the All-ACC Second Team, Dani Morgan and Kalei Harding were named to the Third Team. Flaherty and Harding were also named to the ACC’s All-Freshman team.

This is the third consecutive season that Sydney Sherrill has been named to the All-ACC First team. Sydney was second on the team with a .299 batting average. She led the team with 11 doubles, leading to 25 RBI. She is now the ACC’s all-time leader in doubles with 62.

Sandercock is on an All-ACC team for the second time in her career at FSU. She was named to the All-ACC First Team this season after leading the Seminoles with 21 wins. Sandercock also leads the Garnet and Gold with a 1.17 ERA in 119.2 innings pitched.

Devyn Flaherty rounds out the Seminoles selections to the All-ACC First Team. Flaherty finished ACC play with a .333 batting average with five doubles and four home runs, leading to 15 RBI. She leads the Seminoles in stolen bases this season as she is a perfect 16 for 16.

Caylan Arnold was the Seminoles lone selection to the All-ACC Second Team. Arnold is the team leader in strikeouts with 122 in 104.1 innings pitched. 74 of those strikeouts came in conference play. She has nine wins the season and a 1.61 ERA.

Dani Morgan and Kalei Harding represented the Seminoles on the All-ACC Third Team. Morgan hit .310 in conference play with three doubles and two home runs. She also had 25 of her 26 RBI on the year against ACC competition. Harding led the Seminoles with a .301 batting average as a freshman this season. She led the Seminoles with 17 extra-base hits, including nine doubles, three triples and five home runs. Harding also led the Seminoles with 35 RBI.

Florida State begins play at the 2021 ACC Tournament in Louisville on Thursday at 5 pm against the winner of NC State and North Carolina. The game will be broadcasted on the ACC Network.
