Played in five games with three starts, hitting 1-for-9 with a run and an RBI…drew a walk…hit, run and RBI came on Opening Day against James Madison (2/17), his first career start…also started against Jacksonville (2/21) and FGCU (3/3)…played summer ball for the Boynton Beach Buccaneers in the South Florida Collegiate League.
REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2022):
Played in eight games off the bench, with both hits going for extra bases…hit a double against James Madison for his first career hit and later scored a run…hit a solo home run as a pinch hitter in the NCAA Regional against Auburn for his first RBI…spent time as the designated hitter, catcher and first baseman…played over the summer with Martha’s Vineyard in the NECBL, with two doubles and a home run over 12 games.
FRESHMAN (2021):
Redshirt season after sustaining an offseason injury and missing the year.
PERSONAL:
Graduated from Coral Reef High School in Miami…four-year team captain and varsity starter…ranked the No. 5 catcher in Florida and No. 21 nationally by Perfect Game…selected to play in the 2019 Perfect Game National Showcase…helped Coral Reef win first district and regional championships in school history and led team to first state championship appearance…two-time team MVP hit .375 with 88 hits, 23 doubles, three triples and eight home runs…selected to All-District Team in 2018, 2019 and 2020…2019 All-Dade County…parents are Eric and Janice Jimenez…brother Nick…both parents swam in high school in the Dominican Republic…majoring in interdisciplinary social science…born on March 23, 2002.
