WHY I WEAR MY NUMBER
I wear No. 23 at Florida State to honor my favorite player, LeBron James.  Many great players have worn the No. 23 and I’m trying to follow in their footsteps.  I wore 23 during my freshman season at Duquesne, and No. 1 during my sophomore season at Georgetown.
Primo Spears is the 18th player in school history to wear No. 23 as a Seminole.  Rowland Garrett, who averaged 12.5 points and 8.2 rebounds as a member of Florida State’s 1972 NCAA Tournament Runner-Up team, wore the number for three seasons (1970-72).

WHAT'S IN A NAME
My full name is Amir Angelo Spears IV.  Amir and Angelo are longstanding names of the men on my dad’s side of the family.  The nickname of Primo was given to my dad when he played and he passed it onto me as Lil Primo and it has stuck throughout my career.

MY HOMETOWN
My hometown of Hartford, Conn. is the third largest city in the state and the center of entertainment in the region.
