Played in five games in three seasons as a Seminole and earned his degree in sport management in 2024 from Florida State University…played in a career-high three games during the 2022-23 season including his first appearance in an ACC game against Louisville...joined the team Seminoles to begin the 2021-22 season…practiced and traveled with the team throughout the 2021-22 season but did not play in any games...a high basketball IQ which comes from playing the game throughout his life…named to the 2022 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
AS A JUNIOR (2024)
Averaged 0.5 points and 0.0 rebounds in two games and three minutes played…earned playing time against Kennesaw State (Nov. 10) and Central Michigan (Nov. 13) in his third season as a member of the Seminoles…scored the first point of his career on a second half free throw in Florida State's 94-67 win over Central Michigan in the first round of the Sunshine Slam at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee...his career-high of two minutes of playing time came against both Kennesaw State and central Michigan.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2023): Averaged 0.0 points and 0.3 rebounds in three games played during the 2022-23 season...made his collegiate debut with one minute of playing time in Florida State’s game at UCF (Nov. 11)...earned playing time in an ACC game for the first time in Florida State’s 75-53 victory over Louisville at the Donald L. Tucker Center (Dec. 10)...played one minute and recorded the first rebound of his career against the Cardinals...also earned one minute of playing time in Florida State’s non-conference victory over USC Upstate in Tallahassee (Dec. 13)...a member of Florida State’s famed Green Team.
SUMMER 2022 – CANADIAN EXHIBITION TOUR
Averaged 0.7 points (2 total points) and 1.0 rebound (3 total rebounds) in three games played during the Seminoles' three-game tour of Canada during the month of August in 2022...totaled 0 points and 0 rebounds in two minutes of playing time in the Seminoles' 86-66 win over Ottawa in the first of three exhibition games in Canada...scored two points and totaled 2 rebounds in eight minutes of playing time in Florida State's 98-64 win over Carleton in the second of its three exhibition games in Canada...was a perfect 2 of 2 from the free throw line with 2 defensive rebounds in the Seminoles' game two victory...earned 1 minute of playing time in Florida State's 90-74 win over McGill University in the final game of Florida State's three-game tour of Canada...totaled one rebound in the victory...the Seminoles finished 3-0 on the 10-day trip north of the border.
AS A FRESHMAN (2022): A member of the team who practiced with his teammates throughout the season but did not play in any games...acclimated himself into the Florida State system, and with his size and length became an important member of the Seminoles’ Green Team – the group of scout team players that help prepare the Seminoles for each game on their schedule...traveled as a member of the team to each of Florida State’s games away from Tallahassee.
AT SIDWELL FRIENDS: Graduated from Sidwell Friends School in 2020...played two seasons of varsity basketball at the Washington, D.C. based school…averaged 4.5 points in 21 games as a junior…helped lead Sidwell to a 20-12 overall record and a 7-5 mark in conference play…Sidwell was the No 6 seed in the DCAA Class AA championship tournament…the Quakers defeated Thurgood Marshall Academy in the first round before falling to No. 3 seeded Wilson in the quarterfinals of the tournament…totaled his season-high of 10 points in the Quakers’ 71-46 win over Gerstell Academy in the season-opener for both teams…during his athletic career, he has earned six varsity letters in basketball, football and track and field…his career was highlighted as he helped lead the Quakers to the DCSAA basketball championship during his junior season…Sidwell gained the win over a heavily favored Woodrow Wilson team that consisted of four high major Division I players…was a defensive end and tight end as football player and ran the 100 meters and threw the shot put as a member of the track and field team in high school.
PERSONAL: Born November 13, 2001…Michael is the son of Yolanda and A. Michael Brown…has two sisters Miya and twin sister Milan…Michael is the younger twin by four minutes…Miya was a high school volleyball player…Milan was a four-year starter on the basketball team as a prep star…prides himself on being a member of the Youth Living for Christ (YLFC)…community service is very important to him as he works with organizations that help those less fortunate than him…his grandfather, John Martin, played football at Virginia Union University…Mr. Martin graduated in 1960 and was drafted into the NFL by the Baltimore Colts in the same year….has two cousins that played college football; Kolby Williams (a 2019 graduate offensive lineman at the University of Richmond) and Jalen Williams (a defensive back at Boston College)…a lifelong Florida State fan…earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Florida State in 2024.
