Talented graduate student who transferred from Southern Utah…helped SUU to a pair of NCAA Cross Country Championship appearances…expected to provide a big lift to the front end of the cross country lineup in his final year of eligibility…will also compete indoors and outdoors on the track…native of St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada.
Before FSU:
A three-year standout at Southern Utah University in both cross country and track…coming off his finest year in 2015-16…earned 2015 All-Big Sky (10th place) and All-Mountain Region (22nd) cross country honors as the Thunderbirds advanced to the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive year…the 2014-2015 NCAA appearances were the first by SUU since 1979…followed up on the track with a pair of personal-bests (14:13.74/5000m; 29:52.66/10,000m)…graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in accounting…on the Dean’s List all eight semesters at SUU…earned USTFCCCA All-Academic cross country honors.

Established himself as one of the finest distance runners in Canada while attending St. Francis Secondary…2011 Ontario junior cross country champion…claimed three consecutive Southern Ontario Secondary Schools Association (SOSSA) 3000-meter titles…represented Canada at the 2012 IAAF World Junior Championships in the 10,000m…brother Mohamed Ahmed was a 5000-meter finalist representing Canada at the 2016 Olympic Games…is pursuing master’s degree in accounting at FSU…born June 6, 1993.
