  • Connel defeated player Will Mayew from the University of Louisville in the ACC Mens Championship home gme with scores of 7-6. 6-2 on April 17, 2025
  • Connel overcame player Miguel Avedano Cadena from the University of Louisville at home with scores of 6-3, 6-1 on April 5, 2025
  • Connel defeated player Yu Zhang from the University of Notre Dame at home with scores of 6-2, 6-0 on April 3 2025
  • Connel conquered player Constantinos Djakouris from UNC Chapel Hill with a road victory with scores of 6-0, 6-0 on March 30, 2025
  • Connel triumphed over player Nate Bonetto from Georgia Tech with a score of 6-4, 6-1 on March 23, 2025

Doubles:

  • Connel had a standout season in doubles, forming successful partnerships and securing numerous victories. Over the course of the season, he won 7 out of 7 doubles matches, with impressive performances alongside different partners. His victories include scores of 6-4, 6-2, and even a dominant 6-0, highlighting his versatility and strong presence on the court.

  • On February 23, 2025, Connel and Jan Sebasta defeated Ritesh Patil and Tiago Pires from Texas A&M University in a competitive match, claiming the win with a 6-4 scoreline.
  • Connel and Sebesta continued their winning streak, overcoming Bradley Paliska and Niels Villard from Florida on January 31, 2025, with a dominant 6-2 victory.
  • The duo of Connel and Sebesta defeated Adrien Berrut and Blake Kasday from San Diego on January 25, 2025, delivering another strong performance with a 6-2 win.
  • In a thrilling match on January 16, 2025, Connel and Corey Craig edged out Baran Soyler and Gabriele Datei from Georgia State with a close 5-4 win.

  • On January 12, 2025, Connel and Corey Craig demonstrated their chemistry on the court by defeating Laurent Julia Calac and Aaron James Williams from Georgia Southern with a 6-2 victory.

FALL 2024

Singles:

  • Jamie Connel had an outstanding season, earning the title of singles co-champion at the ITA Southeast Regional Championship. He went on to secure an automatic NCAA Singles Championship qualification for both himself and Corey Craig. Over the season, Connel won 3 key singles matches, including a dramatic 3-set victory against Landon Ardila, a tough win over Thomas Paulsell in the ITA Quarterfinals, and a solid 2-set victory over Martin Katz, further demonstrating his resilience and skill on the court.
  • Jamie Connel had an exceptional season, culminating in a co-championship title at the ITA Southeast Regional Championship and securing an automatic NCAA Singles Championship qualifier alongside teammate Corey Craig.
  • On September 21, 2024, Connel faced Landon Ardila from Princeton at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After a challenging start, he made an incredible comeback, winning 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 7-5.
  • In the ITA Quarterfinals on October 18, 2024, Connel triumphed over Thomas Paulsell from the University of Georgia in a thrilling three-set match, finishing 6-2, 6-7, 6-1.
  • Connel advanced to the ITA Semifinals on October 19, 2024, where he defeated Martin Katz from the University of Miami with a confident 6-3, 6-2 victory

Doubles:

  • Connel and Jan Sebesta showed strong teamwork throughout the season, securing key victories in doubles play, demonstrating their ability to perform under pressure.

  • On October 18, 2024, in the Round of 32, Connel and Sebesta defeated Maximo Oberto and Leonardo Dalboni from the University of Miami in straight sets, winning 6-4, 6-2.

  • The duo continued their winning ways on November 9, 2024, in the Semifinals, where they triumphed over Luka Petrovic and Luc Hoeijmans from Tulane University, claiming a dominant 6-2, 6-3 victory.

SPRING 2024

Singles: #13 Singles Player in Southeast Region

  • Finished second on the team in spring singles wins with 21 victories including 13 Court 3 wins and two top-100 victories.
  • Won his first career NCAA Tournament singles match over UCF's Liam Branger in the NCAA Second Round (5/4).
  • Earned the first point of the ACC Championship victory over Virginia's #51 Jeffrey von der Schulenburg in striaght sets (4/21).
  • Sealed the final point of the three-set thriller over Wake Forest's Matthew Thompson in the ACC Semifinals (4/20).
  • Elevated his play with a second win of the season over NC State's #124 Luca Staeheli 6-2, 6-3 in the ACC Quarterfinals (4/19).
  • Defeated Virginia Tech's Michael Shepheard 7-5, 6-1 in the ACC Second Round (4/18).
  • Earned two ranked victories over #6 Wake Forest's #113 Lucaino Tacchi and #20 NC State's #103 Luca Staeheli in his first full weekend on Court 3 (4/5, 4/7).
  • Notched two straight-set road victories over Georgia Tech's Richard Biagiotti and Clemson's Marko Mesarovic (3/28, 3/30).
  • Won 12 of 15 games over Virginia Tech's Hugo Maia on Court 4 (3/22).
  • Handled #17 Duke's Connor Krug in straight sets for his first home conference win of the season (3/17).
  • Won 24 of 25 games in the doubleheader against Illinois State's Adrian Diblidox and Marist's Alejandro Casteneda (3/10).
  • Defeated Notre Dame's Jameson Corsillo on the road in three sets (3/3).
  • Blanked South Alabama's Juan Accossatto in the first set before finishing off a straight-set win (2/25).
  • Opened conference play with a 6-4, 7-5 road win over Boston College's Caleb Saltz (2/14).
  • Won 12 of the final 15 games in a three-set win over Oklahoma's Justin Schlageter (2/11).
  • Battled back from a set down on the road at #12 Mississippi State's Dusan Milanovic during the ITA Kickoff Weekend (1/28).
  • Earned his first ranked win of the season over Alabama's #76 Matias Ponce De Leon on the road (1/21).
  • Began the season with two straight-set wins over Mercer's Marceau Foulihoux and Jacksonville State's Alin Fatu (1/13).

Doubles:

  • Won the tiebreaker over #7 Tennessee in the NCAA Third Round to help secure the doubles point (5/11).
  • Defeated reigning ACC champion #2 Virginia 6-2 on Court 3  with Alex Bulte (4/21).
  • Concluded the regular season with a 6-4 win at Miami (4/13).
  • Improved to 3-0 on the road in conference play with a 6-4 win over Clemson (3/30).
  • Won in his debut appearance with Justin Lyons at Georgia Tech 6-1 on Court 3 (3/28).
  • Defeated Virginia Tech's Court 3 pairing 6-2 with Alex Bulte (3/22).
  • Blanked Marist on Court 3 6-0 with Alex Bulte (3/10).
  • Opened ACC play with doubles wins on Court 3 at Louisville and Notre Dame with Alex Bulte (3/1, 3/3).
  • Won his first doubles match of the season over Jacksonville State 6-1 with Alex Bulte (1/13).


FALL 2023

  • Opened the fall season with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Georgia State’s Gabriele Datei
  • Won the Battle At The Beach tournament after a 7-6(6), 6-2 win over Middle Tennessee State’s Shu Matsuoka
  • Earned his first ranked win of the fall after a 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-4 victory over No. 63 Wojtek Marek of USC
  • Opened singles play in Tulsa with a ranked win, defeating No. 99 Herman Hoeyeraal from Arizona 6-4, 6-4
  • Began the ITA Southeast Regional singles play in Atlanta with a ranked win, defeating Luca Hotze from UCF in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2

SPRING 2023

  • Began his spring season with a victory over Cal’s Derrick Chen (7-5, 7-6 (7-3)) on court No. 6 as Florida State defeated Cal, 5-2
  • Gained his second win of the season with a victory over No. 21 ranked Blake Croyder of Georgia (6-4, 7-6 (9-7)) on court No. 5 in the Seminoles’ 5-2 win over No. 7 ranked Georgia
  • Earned a victory on court No. 5 over Alvaro Fernandez Horta of Florida Atlantic (6-4, 6-2) in the Seminoles’ 6-1 win over the Owls
  • Gained a win over court No. 5 against Mississippi State’s Benito Sanchez Martinez (6-2, 7-5)
  • Won on court No. 5 over Liam Branger of UCF (1-6, 6-2, 6-3) and helped the Seminoles to a 6-1 win over the Knights at the USTA National Campus in Orlando
  • A victory over Juan Lopez de Azcona of Wake Forest (7-6, 6-0) on court No. 6 helped contribute in No. 24 Florida State’s 4-2 victory over the No. 14 ranked Demon Deacons at the Wake Forest Tennis Center]
  • Defeated Oliver Saarinen of NC Central (6-1, 6-3) on court No. 2 in singles play as the Seminoles defeated the Eagles by a 7-0 margin in a match played in Durham, N.C.
  • Defeated Brian Bilsey of Notre Dame 6-3, 6-2 in a 7-0 sweep of the Fighting Irish
  • Earned his eighth win in a row after defeating UNCW’s Davide Innocenti 6-1, 7-5 in a 4-0 win
  • In the ACC Semifinal defeated Anuj Watane 7-6 (1), 6-2 to help the Seminoles upset North Carolina 4-2 


YOUTH:

  • Named the 2022 Southern Conference Freshman of the Year after posting a 18-5 singles record primarily on court two and a 17-4 doubles record primarily on court one
  • Was also named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team, Singles First Team, and Doubles First Team
  • Finished the season ranked 78th nationally and 10th regionally in doubles with partner Ivan Mitric
  • Rose as high as 29th in the national rankings…beat the only ranked singles player he faced, No. 51 Emile Hudd from Tennessee, in straight sets…also handed 9th-ranked duo Hudd and Shunsuke Mitsui a loss in doubles.
  • Won his final nine singles matches, including two wins in the Southern Conference tournament.

  • Entered collegiate tennis as the top-ranked 18U player in Scotland.
  • Won a British nationals event and a J5 ITF.
