Cindy Hartmann is in her 12th year at Florida State and was promoted to Senior Deputy Athletics for Administration at Florida State University in July of 2025. She works closely with the Director of Athletics on all department activities, assisting with daily internal operations of the department, overseeing the implementation of strategic objectives and providing recommendations on organizational initiatives of the Athletic Department.
Serving on the executive and senior leadership teams, Hartmann is responsible for the overall internal management and supervision of athletics, including personnel management and human resources. She works collaboratively with department leadership and management in strategic staffing, policy development and internal operation of their respective teams. In her leadership role, she serves as an officer in the Florida State University Athletics Association. She also establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships between athletics and campus senior leadership.
She is currently the sport administrator for softball, women’s basketball and beach volleyball. The softball program finished the 2023 season as National Runner-Up and won the National Championship in 2018. Over her time at FSU, she has also served as sport oversight for the soccer, swimming and diving and football programs.
Hartmann is actively engaged in intercollegiate athletics beyond FSU. She has served on numerous conference and NCAA Committees, including past appointments on the NCAA Women’s Basketball Committee and the NCAA Women’s Basketball Issues Committee.
A native of Syracuse, New York, Hartmann's previous experience in college athletics includes stints at Georgia Perimeter College, Georgia State University, the University of Connecticut, the University of Dayton, the University of Tennessee and Duke University.
After earning four varsity letters as a member of the basketball team, Hartmann graduated from Syracuse University in 1991 with a degree in photojournalism. She went on to receive a master's degree in education-sport administration from Georgia State University in 1995.
