The 2023-24 season marks Ian Kellogg’s first year as an Assistant Coach for the Florida State running program after serving as an Assistant Coach at Ohio University last season.
Prior to Ohio, Kellogg served as the graduate assistant coach for the men’s and women’s distance programs at Purdue Northwest University during the 2019-20 academic year. While his time at PNW was cut short due to COVID-19, Kellogg gained experience in developing and implementing training plans, recruiting prospective student-athletes, and hosting the 2019 GLIAC Cross Country Championship meet. Additionally, he led two athletes to school record-setting performances.
While earning his undergraduate degree from Otterbein University, Kellogg served as a three-time team captain for the Cardinals in both cross country and track & field. He was a four-time national qualifier at the Division III level – twice in cross country, once in the 3000m steeplechase, and another as a member of the distance medley relay, where he anchored his squad to All-American honors with an eighth place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
In the fall of 2018, Kellogg helped guide the Cardinal cross country team to its first conference title since 2004, en route to the team’s first bid to the NCAA Championship meet in over two decades. Additionally, Kellogg garnered numerous Academic All-American awards throughout his career – graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors.
Kellogg earned his bachelor’s degree English and recently received his Master’s in Coaching Education from Ohio University.
