McKenzie Gaghan joined the inaugural Florida State women's lacrosse team as an assistant coach in August of 2025. Gaghan will work primarily with the Seminoles' goalkeepers.

Gaghan spent her final two collegiate seasons at Florida Southern...playing in all 21 games with 20 starts … posted a 15-5 record overall while logging 915:43 minutes between the pipes with 103 saves on 386 shots faced … finished the year with a 11.66 goals-against average (178 GA/21 GMs) … tallied 38 groundballs with three caused turnovers in cage for the Mocs … registered multiple saves in 17 games with a career-best 11 saves against Mercy (3/9) in a Moccasin jersey
 Ended her playing career with Florida Southern with a 17-5 record with 1047:59 minutes played over 24 contests

Her undergrad career was spent at East Stroudsburg (2018-22).. Was a two-time IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Week (2022: 5/10, 5/24)…Played in 31 games in goal totaling 1,050:54 minutes of action…tallied 128 saves with a .494 save percentage…had 27 career ground balls…during her final season at ESU, started 18 of her 22 games including the 2022 National Championship game against UIndy where she had a career high of 14 saves…she capped the year with 968:57 minutes with 119 saves in 2022…was named in the USA Lacrosse Magazine DII Honorable Mention All-American…2022 NCAA runner up…2022 & 2021 Atlantic Region Champion…For her academics, she was named PSAC Scholar Athlete (2019, 2020)…ESU Athlete Academic Honor Roll (2019-2022)…D2 ADA Award 2020.  

Gaghan attended and played lacrosse at Farmingdale High School, was a four-year letter winner…selected as an All-County honoree in goal…served as team captain her senior year…helped team to a Nassau County championship…also an All-Conference performer in tennis, and an All-County in winter track & field…served as president of Varsity Leaders club, and was also a member of DECA…Wendy Heisman Award recipient as a senior…principal honor roll student
